Local Author - Anti-Bullying Mascot Lil Herbie Kicks Off Read Across America Week with Mayor Reggie Burgess

North Charleston, South Carolina Mar 6, 2025 (Issuewire.com) - Every 1 Voice Matters kicked off Read Across America Week with North Charleston Mayor Reggie Burgess at Meeting Street at Brentwood. North Charleston Mayor read to the students before joining Lil Herbie in an exciting dance celebration. Lil Herbie, an anti-bullying mascot, is a beloved character designed to empower and educate children about self-worth
 and perseverance.
Throughout the week, Myers continued visiting four local schools with special guest appearances from community leaders, including:

 Ancient Free and Accepted Masons
I created the Lil Herbie Series to give children the confidence to use their voice, believe in themselves, and overcome challenges like bullying and self-doubt, said Sherrika Myers, founder of Every 1 Voice Matters. Literacy is the foundation of success, and through storytelling, were able to inspire the next generation. This initiative aligns with Read Across America, a national literacy movement that encourages children to embrace reading. With the help of Lil Herbie, community leaders, and local officials, Myers is making learning engaging, interactive, and fun.
